The arrival greeting 挨拶回り
Within 48 hours of arriving, visit both immediate neighbors and the house across the way. Bring a small gift — ¥500–1,000 of local sweets or a tenugui. Say the line, bow, keep the whole visit under 2 minutes. Short is polite.
- アキヤコレクティブの家に滞在します。よろしくお願いします。Akiya Korekutibu no ie ni taizai shimasu. Yoroshiku onegai shimasu. — I'm staying at the Akiya Collective house. Please look kindly on me.
